I originally came out to Crete to spend the winter working in the greenhouses of the south, that lasted a day as it was realized I’m not green fingered. Any how my love for farming work may not have flourished but my love for Crete did. That so called winter delevoped into 26 years.

I have worked in the travel/hotel industry for 20 years within various departments and trained in customer service. I am fluent in Greek which has been of great advantage with really getting know the Cretan people and their culture. I am married with 4 children. Ever since coming here to the island of Crete I have always felt safe and at ease and therefore bringing my children up in this environment was an obvious choice.

My interest in Greece began early in my life with tales from my father who was billeted in both Athens and Thessaloniki during the Second World War. He described the beautiful landscape, the Classical architecture and the warmth and friendliness of the Greek people. I was then lucky enough to have a teacher in junior school who passed on her love of the myths and legends of this ancient culture.

However, I suffered from travel sickness so was very reluctant to travel but I told people that if I ever did venture abroad it would be to Greece. Many years passed before my first visit, to the island of Corfu, it took only forty-eight hours for me to decide that Greece was the place I wanted to be.

A few years later my partner Rod and I spent a holiday in Rethymnon, we were enchanted by the island of Crete, the beauty of the scenery, the mystical mountains and sleepy villages. We were becoming more and more disillusioned with our life in England, the escalating cost of living and the rise in petty crime; we decided to move to Crete.

Of course, we had the usual concerns about buying property abroad, fortunately for us Euroimmo was one of the companies we contacted, and on meeting Nikos we were assured that his company would handle all the negotiations and legalities. Nikos listened to our requirements regarding property, location, price etc., and these details were carefully attended too. At no time did we feel under any pressure.

We found our lovely stone house through Nikos and count ourselves lucky indeed to have met him. Now over six years later we have joined Nikos in helping others find their ideal property, we can be contacted through the office in Rethymnon.
